An experienced educator and counselor, Sue Starr most recently served three years as a principal at the Northeast Middle and High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sue Starr’s work with this Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) institution of learning included establishing a success-oriented culture that promotes high levels of achievement for both students and faculty.
Ms. Starr also furthered student development through the effective employment of standard-based curriculum and assessment systems. Under her leadership, Northeast received two consecutive National Academy Foundation “model school” designations.
Before assuming her leadership position at Northeast, Ms. Starr served OKCPS assistant principalships at both Star Spencer High School and Rogers Middle School. She joined the OKCPS team after serving over a decade as a school counselor with the Cedar Hill Independent School District in Greater Dallas, Texas.
Ms. Starr currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth suburb of Rockwall. She holds current certifications as a secondary reading instructor, a school counselor, and a principal.
